Promise keeper is one of the most powerful spiritual revivals in US. In 1990, University of Colorado head football coach Bill McCartney had the idea to fill a stadium with Christian men. In July of 1991, 4,200 men gathered for the first Promise Keepers meeting at the University of Colorado basketball arena. Since then, more than two million men have attended conferences. In 1993, Maranatha! Music partnered with Promise Keepers and created the Promise Band, a group of talented Christian men who are committed to providing music for all Promise Keepers events. Today, there are two Promise bands with four different worship leaders who tradeoff doing music for the conferences. Maranatha! Music has released 15 Promise Keepers recordings to date--both studio and live projects--which are comprised of music from the conferences. Choose This Day released in the spring of '99 and features contemporary worship songs, classic hymns, and represents a broad spectrum of musical styles including gospel, Spanish, R& B and acoustic rock.
